WHY HIRE MONROE COUNTY TECHNICAL CENTER GRADUATES?

Students who complete programs of study at Monroe County Technical Center are ready for college and careers.

Our students are accountable. Students clock in and out each day and experience a mock payroll system.  These practices are designed to provide students with guidance on being punctual, managing time, and understanding basic industry procedures, self-direction, and personal responsibility.

Our students are subject to random drug testing.  In an effort to ensure a safe learning enviornment and encourage good personal health and well-being, MCTC participates in random drug screenings throughout the school year.

Our students are skilled.  MCTC operates as a Simulated Workplace learning environment.  This means students are the leaders of their classrooms, labs, shops and learning experiences.  Instructors work as facilitators, guiding student leaders through the challenges and rewards of accepting responsibility for project planning, project work, and project outcomes.  Program completers are required to take the NOCTI exam and compile a portfolio of student work and accomplishments.

Our students are certified.  MCTC students pursue and obtain certifications through their respective programs of study.  Some examples include CNA, BQA, OSHA 10, Safe Food Handlers, Tooling U, First Aid and CPR, Stop the Bleed, Corrections One Academy, WV Welcome, CERT, Confidentiality Training.
